Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomena: a superstar who managed to seamlessly transition from country to the mainstream making her an iconic celebrity and then conquering the globe in the process. Swift has thrown off her country roots like she was shedding skins for second purposes, showing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter in her generation. She has the ability to take the zeitgeist of today and turn it into her personal. Swift's talents could be seen in her first tracks, including the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on her second album Fearless released in 2008 Swift discovered her true identity and gain audiences across the globe. Fearless was hugely popular not only in America which is where it's Top Ten singles Love Story and Belong with Me helped it to break six platinum records however, it also swept the world. It was a huge success in Canada, Australia in Australia and Canada. U.K. Swift's second album Speak Now, released just two years after the debut, further consolidated this momentum. It helped propel Swift to the heights of fame. She grew in popularity through her subsequent three albums: Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift became a household name within the genre she was a part of. While she reduced her work with folklore and Evermore released in 2020, she was still leading the way in pop music.
